Arteta Furious Over Martinelli’s Red Card
Mikel Arteta wants answers from Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), which governs the Premier League’s referees, for Arsenal’s fourth red card in six games.
Although the Gunners were able to carry on for the last 20 minutes of the game and record a 1-0 win against Wolves with just 10 men, their manager left the pitch angry.
The fourth card was issued against Gabriel Martinelli after being shown two yellow cards within five seconds for two separate fouls.
During his post-match interview, Arteta, raised his concerns over the number of red cards already issued for Arsenal.
The 39-year-old Spaniard said: “To be fair, it’s the first time I’ve seen a red card like this in 18 years that I’ve been in this league.”
He added: “If you ask me if I’m happy with the decisions we’ve had this season, I’m not at all. But that’s a conversation I will have privately with the officials. We need explanations.”
